WKU Library’s eBook Support for Teaching, Learning, and Research

During WKUers’ studying from home, WKU Library offers several eBook resources to support teaching, learning, and research. The subscribed resources require users to log in using WKU email and password. All WKUers can find these resources in the Database A-Z on the library homepage.

1. ProQuest Ebook Central
A collection of scholarly ebooks (over 700,000 titles) from leading publishers, covering key academic subject areas, including Business, Health Science, Humanities, Social Science, and STEM.

2. JSTOR
JSTOR database offers more than 60,000 ebooks through DDA model; it also contains open access books and journals.

3. Emerald Insight
Emerald insight manages a portfolio of over 300 journals, more than 2,000 books and over 1,500 teaching cases.

4. EBSCO eBook Collection
A collection of ebooks that covers various topics in the fields of business, economics, humanities, social science, and STEM.

5. Business Expert Press
A collection of academic and practical ebooks that cover various topics in the business fields including accounting, finance, information system, marketing, and supply-chain management, etc.

Open Access Database:
1. CollegeOpenTextbooks.org
Course tool that is in the public domain or has been open-licensed by the copyright holder to permit re-use without asking permission.

2. Directory of Open access Books
DOAB is a service of OAPEN Foundation. The directory is open to all publishers who publish academic, peer reviewed books in Open Access and contain as many books as possible, provided that these publications are in Open Access and meet academic standards.

3.HathiTrust Digital Library
HathiTrust Digital Library is a digital preservation repository and access platform providing access to over 10 million volumes of valuable digital resources, including books, archival materials, and articles.

4. UNESDOC
UNESDOC is the repository of UNESCO’s institutional memory and a source of high-quality information on UNESCO activities (in education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, and communication and information), with more than 350,000 titles dating back to 1945.

5. World Digital Library
The World Digital Library (WDL) is a project of the U.S. Library of Congress, carried out with the support of the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO), and in cooperation with libraries, archives, museums, educational institutions, and international organizations from around the world. The WDL makes available on the Internet, free of charge and in multilingual format, significant primary materials from all countries and cultures.

Europeana Collections provides access to over 50 million digitised items – books, music, artworks and more – with sophisticated search and filter tools to help you find what you’re looking for. It dedicated thematic collections on art, fashion, music, photography and World War I contain galleries, blogs and exhibitions to inform and inspire.

The National Academies Press (NAP) publishes the reports of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The NAP publishes more than 200 books a year on a wide range of topics in science, engineering, and medicine, providing authoritative, independently-researched information on important matters in science and health policy.
