Knowing Your Library Series | How to Recommend a Book for Acquisition

Dear WKUers, when you search for a special book on your reading list, only to find it's not yet in our library's collection, do you choose to buy it yourself or reluctantly give up on reading it? Now, let's embark on a new reading journey with the "Book Recommendation" service – which will help you achieve reading freedom!

Notes

1. Before recommending, please check whether the material has been accessible in the Library. In principle, a book already in the library collection will not be reordered.

2. The Library will comprehensively consider whether to adopt patrons' recommendations based on the selection principles, the annual resource construction plan, funding conditions, etc.

3. To ensure accurate procurement, please provide the ISBN, book title, author, publisher, and other necessary recommendation details.

4. Please understand that some books may be unavailable due to out-of-stock situations at publishers or disrupted supply chains.

Unveiling the Recommendation Methods

Method 1: Fill Out the Online Book Recommendation Form

1. Open a browser and visit the library’s official website. Official website link: https://library.wku.edu.cn/en. Enter the following interface

2.On the opened page, click on “Service”, select “Recommend a Book,” and enter the “Recommend a Book for Acquisition Form” page.

3.On the "Recommend a Book for Acquisition Form" page, fill in the information as required

3.1 Basic Information 

Name (Required) 

Email Address (Required) 

Status (Required selection)

3.2 Resource Information

Authors (required)

Title (required)

ISBN (required)

Publisher & where & when published (required)

3.3 Submit “Recommend a Book for Acquisition Form”

After confirming the information is correct, click the "Submit" button.
