WKU Library Collaboration with Wuhan University School of Information Management

Wenzhou-Kean University Library has established a collaboration relationship with Wuhan University’s School of Information Management, Top 1 and oldest history in Library & Information Science in China and Double First Class Discipline.

YANG Le from the WKU Library visited Wuhan University’s School of Information Management on March 29, 2018. Professor WU Zhiqiang (The Secretary of CPC of Library Science Department), Professor SI Li (former Director of Library Science Department) and several professors met with YANG Le and discussed collaboration opportunities, including but not limited to: WKU Library internship and job opportunities for Wuhan Library Science graduates and library professional trainings for WKU Library staff. This discussion was supported by the WKU Library Director Mr. Charles Greenberg and by the Dean of School of Information Management FANG Qin, Associate Dean HUANG Ruhua, and Department Director WU Dan, who were in Britain for iConference 2018 and not able to join the meeting in person.

YANG Le is currently serving as the President of Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA). On behalf of the association, YANG discussed a variety of collaboration opportunities between CALA and Wuhan, and has reached a strategic agreement on international conferences, seminars, journal publications, professional training, exchange scholars, etc. The WKU Library will be beneficiaries from the signed agreement.

 

温州肯恩大学图书馆在3月29日拜访了武汉大学信息管理学院,会谈中达成了合作意向。武汉大学信息管理学院有着我国历史最悠久的排名第一的图书馆学专业,同时也是国家双一流建设中的一流大学中的一流学科。

我馆数字图书馆和馆藏建设负责人杨乐老师与武汉大学图书馆学系党委书记吴志强教授、前主任司莉教授、和多位在图书馆学和信息科学领域享誉海内外的教授进行了深入交流,内容涉及武汉大学图书馆学系为温州肯恩大学图书馆老师未来可能进行的专业培训,以及未来温州肯恩大学图书馆会将实习和工作机会及时发送到武汉大学图书馆学系的就业指导中心。此次会谈结果取得温州肯恩大学图书馆馆长Charles Greenberg的支持,并取得远在英国参加国际会议的武大信息管理学院方卿院长、黄如花副院长、和吴丹主任的支持。

我馆的杨乐老师目前兼任美国华人图书馆员协会(CALA)会长,代表CALA与武汉方达成了全面战略合作伙伴的意向,双方一起起草了合作意向书,内容涵盖国际期刊共建、论文发表、科研课题、国际会议、访问学者等一系列重大合作项目。温州肯恩大学图书馆也将受益于此合作。
