525 Mental Health Day | Exploring Psychological Resources in WKU Library

May 25th is Mental Health Day for college students. The harmonic tone of 525 in Chinese sounds like “Wo ai wo”, which means “I love myself”. One must love oneself before loving others. To help WKUers understand relevant psychological knowledge better, WKU Library prepared a rich psychological resources package for everyone, which includes book recommendations, database recommendations, and software.

 

Psychological Book Recommendations

Facing the heavy burden of academic life, do you feel anxious and nervous? Regarding the future direction after graduation, do you feel lost? When dealing with complex interpersonal relationships, do you feel overwhelmed? In fact, many people have similar experiences and you are not alone. These are not big deals if you know how to adjust yourself properly.

WKU Library has recommended some psychology books for you, allowing you to dialogue with your talents, help you better understand yourself, and find the power of self-healing to accept yourself.

Title: Counselling for Toads: A Psychological Adventure
Author: Robert de Board

Robert de Board's Counselling for Toads: A Psychological Adventure is an educational psychology work. The book explains how Toad, who used to be cheerful and playful, loses his recognition of his own strengths and values in the emotional struggles and attempts to please others and falls into the abyss of self-doubt and depression eventually.
