Welcome Class of 2028! As the starting point of your academic journey, WKU Library is honored to serve as your palace of knowledge exploration. To facilitate your seamless access to all library services, we have meticulously crafted a series of user guides. Today, we will unveil the mysteries of the library and guide you into this space filled with wisdom.

Brief introduction of WKU Library

Wenzhou-Kean University Library, as a crucial academic resource center for Wenzhou-Kean University, is dedicated to facilitating academic progress, disseminating diverse cultures, stimulating innovative thinking, and empowering new knowledge through resources, programs, spaces, and services. The Library's construction commenced in 2012, and by the end of 2023, WKU Library encompasses several library areas, such as the Student Learning and Activity Center Library, the Ge He Kai Design Library, and the Chen Tianlong Art Museum, with a total area of approximately 20,000 square meters. After an in-depth understanding of the development trend of libraries and the needs of faculty and students, the WKU Library meticulously creates functional spaces with the aim of providing users with a comprehensive platform integrating learning, communication, and growth.

Library Resource

Kean University Library shares its e-resources with Wenzhou-Kean University Library. At present, faculty and students in the university can use 67,000 print books (including 15,000 Chinese books and 52,000 foreign books), over 90 Chinese periodicals, over 100 foreign periodicals, and access more than 340 databases related to various fields, over 1 million e-books, 196,000 electronic government reports and more than 50,000 e-journals. The resources cover all fields such as business, humanities and social sciences, arts, architecture, science and engineering, and cover all aspects of literature and information resources needed for teaching, scientific research, and general education in the university. At the same time, with the help of the Rapid-ILL interlibrary loan service platform, faculty and students of Wenzhou-Kean University can make use of various documents to achieve resource sharing.

Library Code of Conduct

  1. When entering the WKU Library, patrons must follow library policies and treat all staff and patrons in a courteous and respectful manner.  
  2. Library patrons must exhibit behaviors that promote a safe, quiet, and comfortable environment for all patrons. Loud talking, eating, phoning, and smoking are strictly prohibited.  
  3. Library patrons are not allowed to occupy seats by leaving personal belongings unattended.  
  4. Report safety concerns, theft or vandalism to Library staff or WKU security immediately. 
  5. Be respectful to Library's literature resources and public facilities. Do not tear or paint on books and periodicals. Graffiti on desks, chairs, and walls are not tolerated. 
  6. Help the Library keep a clean environment by placing trash and recyclables in the proper receptacles.
