Encountering the Most Beautiful Library | Library Potography Competition Coming Again
The Student Learning and Activity Center (SLAC) of Wenzhou-Kean University has received a prestigious award by Prix Versailles for one of the World’s Most Beautiful Campuses. As the core of this building, the design and layout of the Wenzhou-Kean University Library combine modernity with cultural ambiance, showcasing the unique spirit of the campus. To celebrate this honor and further enrich campus culture, the library will host a photography competition themed “Encountering the Most Beautiful Library,” inviting all faculty and students to use their lenses to capture the tranquil beauty within the library and collectively experience its literary atmosphere.

05 Submission Method
Participants can send their works in a compressed format package to the Wenzhou-Kean University Library's email (library@wku.edu.cn) with the email subject 2024 Lakefront Photography and ensure successful submission based on the official email reply. Compressed files should be named with the student/employee ID + name. Participants can create titles for their photography. If there is a description for their work (not exceeding 100 words), it should be presented in a Word document and included in the compressed file.
06 Submission Requirements
1. Each person can submit up to 4 pieces. Color and shooting time are not limited, but the works must be in JPEG or JPG format with a minimum resolution of 3 million pixels. The original photography cannot be altered; only minor adjustments in color, tone, and brightness are allowed. No computer-generated compositions are permitted.
2. There are no restrictions on the equipment used, including DSLR cameras and smartphones.
3. The works must be original and must not be plagiarized, copied, or imitated. They should not have any modifications, decorations, watermarks, signatures, or logos of photography software.
4. Authors of the submitted works must have independent and complete copyright and guarantee that their submissions do not infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, reputation, portrait, and privacy rights. In case of any disputes arising from the failure of this guarantee, all legal responsibilities will be borne by the submitter.
5. Each participant grants the organizing unit, Wenzhou-Kean University Library, permanent usage rights for the works submitted in this competition.
07 Selection Methods
A combination of expert selection and public voting.
Initial Selection: The judging committee will browse the initially submitted works and select 30 works to proceed to the next round of evaluation.
Public Voting Stage: All WKUers will vote for the selected works.
Notes
1. Faculty and students coming to the library for photography must adhere to relevant regulations and policies, take care of the library's facilities and collections, and ensure that they do not disturb other readers who are studying in the library.
2. Only the highest-ranked work of the same author will be eligible for awards, meaning each participant can win only once.
3. WKU Library reserves the final right to interpret the rules of this event.
