WKU Library cordially invites all readers to join our reading challenge on the afternoon of April 23rd, World Book Day.
Slow down the pace of life and immerse yourself in the experience.
Whether you savor each page or discover something new in the combination of words, feel the inspiration and power that books bring, and enjoy the sense of achievement that comes from completing a whole book.

Participants are welcoming to freely choose a favorite book for immersive reading—either from the recommended book list for this event or from the library's general collection—and select a memorable quote.

15:45-16:15 SHARING SESSION  

“I like this book so much!”

“Good book!”

“This book is not worth reading.”

This event includes a sharing session where readers are welcome to talk about their reading experiences—whether it's a favorite quote, a reading disappointment, or a hidden gem recommendation, your thoughts deserve to be heard.
(This session is optional and open to all participants.)

Students who attend this event's "Reading Session"will receive 2 hours of volunteer time. Please scan the QR code below to register and join the group.

The three excerpts above are taken from three different books featured in this reading session’s book list. On the day of the event, if you happen to “spot” any of these quotes during your reading, simply hand in the book containing the excerpt to the staff on-site and identify the quote—you’ll receive a specially designed library umbrella as a gift.

As the rainy season approaches, we hope this umbrella becomes a gentle connection between you and your reading journey. On some rainy afternoon in the future, may opening this umbrella bring back memories of the moment you were immersed in the sea of books, the joy and excitement sparked by words, and the quiet happiness that blossomed through reading.
