Immersive Reading Activity | To each brave soul that dares to begin

September 10, 2025 | Upcoming Events | WKU Library

"To each brave soul that dares to begin", this line comes from the animated film “Nobody”. The four little monsters in the film, each with distinct personalities, shine with courage in their ordinary lives. Though unknown by name, they are just like every one of us ordinary individuals, moving forward quietly in the corners of the world. Dreams and reality are intertwined, setting out and staying behind coexist.

The new semester brings assignments, exams, and future plans looming like the Yellow-Browed Demon, while the unknown "Langlang Mountain" awaits your climb. Don’t panic! This September, come to the SLAC 607 Academic Seminar, open your books, and find your tools for battle. Whether you prefer immersing yourself in quiet reading or sharing insights with peers, this is your courage recharge station.

Activity Introduction

The Immersive Reading Activity is a specially curated experience by the Wenzhou-Kean University Library. In a tranquil setting, participants immerse themselves in two hours of focused reading accompanied by "one book," and conclude by sharing their insights through "one reflection." Held monthly around a specific theme, the event transforms reading from a solitary activity into an opportunity for community connection.

Romain Rolland once said, "There is only one heroism in the world: to see the world as it is and to love it."
