New Horizons in Press:Which periodicals hold your next inspiration?
At the entrance of the library’s third floor lies a small periodicals reading area. Wooden shelves stand quietly, unassuming yet orderly, housing a collection of over 200 types of periodicals, among which more than half are in foreign languages. International news, academic exploration, culture and arts, technological innovation, social trends... Each publication shines in its own right while resonating with others in the space, offering readers a diverse and rich source of information.

For this issue, we recommend six periodicals to our readers — inviting you to discover a different depth and potential in periodicals reading as you flip through the pages.

2. London Review of Books / Twice Monthly
3. New York Review of Books / Fortnightly

In an era where the fast pace of life has accustomed us to fragmented reading, the London Review of Books and the New York Review of Books serve as reminders to "slow down". They do not chase trends; instead, with the sharpness of words and thought, they dissect the present, revisit history, and reflect on human nature. Each review is like an intellectual expedition, crafted in prose that is both incisive and elegant, guiding readers through the realms of literary classics and contemporary issues.
4. Scientific American / Bimonthly Publication

Imagine a magazine that guides you through the microscopic forests of cells and soars across the starry rivers of the vast universe—this is Scientific American. As one of the world's most influential popular science magazines, it covers groundbreaking research and ideas across science, technology, health, environment, and society. Yet it conveys more than just data and experiments; it shares the passion and creativity of scientists in their quest for truth. Here, you can uncover the wonders of science, allowing curiosity and critical thinking to grow hand in hand.

5. ArtReview / Monthly

6. National Geographic / Monthly

National Geographic is more than just a magazine combining words and images—it is a constantly evolving "encyclopedia of the Earth". From polar ice fields to tropical rainforests, from the ruins of ancient civilizations to the frontlines of climate change, it documents the planet’s grandeur and fragility through photography and prose, telling the story of human coexistence with nature. Through the lenses and pens of scientists, explorers, and photographers, it showcases the beauty of geography while posing a profound question: in this rapidly changing world, what will become of our relationship with nature?
