The WKU Writing Center (温州肯恩大学写作中心) has officially resumed operations for the Spring 2026 semester for all WKU students.

Students can drop in during the hours posted on the schedule outside of the door of GEH A205 or make an appointment using WKU Resource Booking:

Service Overview

The WKU Writing Center provides academic writing support services for all students at Wenzhou-Kean University. We are located in GEH A205, where students can schedule one-on-one or small group consultation sessions.

We also offer flexible meeting arrangements at SLAC upon request, as well as classroom visits and writing workshops. Contact James McDougall (jmcdouga@kean.edu) if you would like Writing Center Support for any of your projects. 

Writing Assistance Offered

We assist students throughout the entire writing process, including:

1.Idea generation and brainstorming strategies.

2.Research and utilization of the WKU Library Database and the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons, as well as operation of relevant statistical software (such as STATA).

3.Downloading, reading journal articles and taking notes.

4.Citation.

5.Outlining and drafting.

6.Formatting according style guides.

7.Proofreading and using spelling/grammar checkers.

8.Revision and collaborative writing project management.

More than Essays

We can work with students on various academic writing genres and formats, such as essays, speeches, presentation slides,

webpages, blogs, podcasts, and videos. Students can come just to practice speaking by talking about their ideas with a peer tutor.

Appointment Procedure

Students can make appointments through the following steps:

1.Visit the WKU Resource Booking Page: Resource Booker.

2.Select “WKU Writing Center”.

3.Choose a faculty, graduate student, or peer consultant/tutor based on available time slots.

4.Email assignment sheets or drafts to the consultant/tutor prior to the appointment.

5.Attend the session at GEH A205.

6.Sign out by scanning the exit QR code upon completion.
