The event was attended by participants from WKU as well as guests from Wenzhou University, Wenzhou Medical University, the Ouhai District Library, and other institutions.

Opening remarks were delivered by Chancellor Li Xiaonian, Vice President for Academic Affairs Prof. Eric Yang, and Dean Prof. Celia Lam, each speaking to the role of liberal arts education in cultivating independent thinking and fostering open intellectual exchange.

Dr. Moritz Mihatsch, Assistant Professor of History at the College of Liberal Arts and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (elected in 2025), delivered the keynote on eurocentrism and decolonization in UNESCO's postwar History of Mankind project, examining how political structures shaped historical narratives and why critical thinking remains vital in an age of artificial intelligence.

The series runs monthly, with seven sessions planned for 2026, covering artificial intelligence, creativity, mental health, and international education. The series is open to the public. Please stay tuned for upcoming sessions.
