Academic Publishing and English Writing:Insights from Emerald
Introduction
Emerald has been dedicated to academic publishing across the humanities and social sciences, management, engineering, and information sciences. Its online platform Emerald Insight provides access to over 390 academic journals, 8,000 books, and 3,600 case studies. Currently, Emerald is one of the world’s leading publishers, with authors and clients worldwide. Emerald works with all of the top 200 universities in the Times Higher Education ranking, all of the top 100 business schools in the Financial Times, and nearly 60% of the top companies in the Fortune Global 500.
Currently, WKU Library subscribes to three electronic resources on this platform:
- eJournals Collections | 电子期刊库
The Emerald e-journal database specializes in fields like management, information science, and engineering, with more than 1/3 of its journals indexed in SCI, SSCI, A&HCI, or EI.
- eBooks Collections | 电子书库
The Emerald e-book database covers over 200 subjects, with nearly 85% of its books indexed in BKCI and 90% of them indexed in Scopus.
- Case Studies Collections | 案例研究库
More than 1/2 of the Emerald case studies originate from world-renowned business schools such as Kellogg and Darden, and over 2,000 cases are indexed in Scopus.

• Platform Usage Guide: Demonstration of basic functions and usage tips for the Emerald Insight platform.
• English Academic Writing: Common requirements and suggestions in English academic paper writing from the publisher's perspective.
• Journal Submission Process: Key concerns in submitting to international journals, including journal selection, cover letter drafting, manuscript revision, and responding to peer reviewers’ comments.
