Exhibition | The 18th–20th Centuries in Europe: Museum Replicas and Prints

November 04, 2026

11

Between the 18th and 20th centuries, Europe underwent dramatic technological transformation and shifts in artistic thought. With the popularization of lithography and other new processes, prints emerged as a vital medium for mass communication and artistic expression. Meanwhile, sculpture continuously explored human representation and formal expression, gradually developing new visual languages.

Drawn from the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the reproductions in this exhibition capture the artistic landscape of Europe across the 18th to 20th centuries. The show is divided into two sections. The first features European prints, including iconic posters and lithographs by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Jules Chéret and other less widely recognized creators from Britain, France and Spain. The second section presents museum sculpture replicas, such as the 3D-printed reproduction of Rodin’s The Age of Bronze.

Prints preserve the advertising, popular culture and public visual life of their time, while sculpture embodies artists’ investigations of the human figure and form. Placed side by side, these works invite visitors to trace the evolution and dialogue of European art across three centuries through different media.

Encounter museum-quality reproductions of European artworks right here on campus.
